A "Flurry" of Activity // M-Note 2.22.25

Despite the cold, there is a lot happening here at The Gathering and several ways for you to take a new step in your faith. Many of you started the new year with an intention to try new things or recommit to making faith a priority in your life. Here are a few concrete ways to do it!

  1. The Gathering is officially exploring two new potential sites in the St. Louis area, one in the metro east and one in west county. To start a new site, we need to know who is interested in potentially being part of the team. We are hoping to have 75-100 people interested in helping to launch each site, so we need you! We are having interest sessions to learn more in March and April. If you live in the metro east or west county/St. Charles county and are interested in learning more, please let us know right here.

  1. Next week we are hosting our 3rd annual BEYOND Conference, a space for progressive evangelical pastors and church leaders to gather and learn how to be more effective in reaching new people and making a difference in our communities. Nearly 200 people from all over the country will be arriving Sunday night. Please take a moment and pray for those leaders. If you are interested in volunteering during the event, we would love to have you serve. You can let us know here.

  1. This weekend we will have a very special guest preacher in our series Beloved Community: Pursuing Racial Justice. Our District Superintendent Rev. Adrienne Denson Ewell will be preaching. Not only is she a gifted pastor but in her new role, she works under the bishop supervising United Methodist Churches in this area of the state. I want her to be blown away by The Gathering’s hospitality and energy, so I hope you will make it a priority to be in worship, at any site, this weekend.

  1. If you are relatively new to The Gathering OR if you have never tried it, I want you to sign up to join me for NEXT. I will share the story of The Gathering, answer your questions, and share ways to take a next step in your faith here. There will be food and drinks on us, it lasts 1 hour, childcare is available, and it is a lot of fun. If you have never done it, join me (and bring a friend) on March 4th at Schlafly Bottleworks. Sign up here.

It looks like it is FINALLY warming up. I hope you get outside today, enjoy the sunshine, and I can’t wait to see you in worship.

Peace,
Matt
