Nothing Between Us

Scripture:

But in all these things we win a sweeping victory through the one who loved us. I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord: not death or life, not angels or rulers, not present things or future things, not powers or height or depth, or any other thing that is created. (Romans 8:37–39)

Reflection:

Today’s practice is deceptively simple: receive.

Read Romans 8:37–39 slowly. Insert your own name in place of the word “us.” Let it become personal.

“Nothing can separate (your name) from God’s love…” Sit with each phrase. Death cannot. Your past cannot. Your current stress cannot. That conversation you regret cannot. Even your inconsistency cannot.

So today, resist the instinct to prove something. Let this be a day where your spiritual practice is not doing more for God, but receiving God’s love without earning it. Let that reception soften your posture, steady your breathing, and quiet the voice that says you must try harder.

You do not have to close a gap. There is nothing between you and Love.

Prayer Practice:

As your prayer today, sit in silence for a few minutes of reflection. As you inhale, envision a clear path between you and God’s love. As you exhale, picture any hindrance between you and God’s love being tossed aside. Repeat as many times as needed. Amen.
